My 2.0 TDi bluemotion struggles to start sometimes. It keeps trying and then it will go. The start stop alarms. I turn it off and start again and it goes straight away. Anyone have this and solved. Have had the crank speed sensor replaced but no change. Thanks in advance.

Have you checked for any fault codes with a scanner or obd dongle? Does this happen only on cold starts or also when the engine is warm? Start stop failure could point to the battery charge being low. How old is the battery? Bloody intermittent faults, they do my nut in!

I have not scanned it since the crank speed sensor was replaced. I assume the garage checked and cleared any codes.

I shall try and find a code reader that works and check.
