hi,i have a 2001 vw passat 2.0 and am having problems.
check engine light came on,so checked codes P0304-Misfire cylinder 4,changed all spark plugs and everything ran fine for a couple of weeks, light now back on intermitently, reading code P0304 again and very sluggish.
i have ordered a new MAF sensor as when i removed electrical plug nothing happened so going to give this a whirl, but any advice would be gratefully received

Since it's an early 2.0 litre it's the AZM engine which has a single coil pack for all 4 cylinders. Most likely cause would be the HT lead to cylinder number 4 which is the rearmost cylinder (furthest from front of the car) or even the coil pack itself.
