    Evening all,

Bit of an issue with my 140 TDI GT BKD (57 plate)
It is using an excessive amount of coolant - I have checked coolant for signs of oil and there are none, no milky colour on the bottom of the oil cap either.
    No obvious signs of leakage
Under acceleration around 2000rpm-3500rpm it smokes (noticeable at night when someone is behind with lights on) - No loss of power
It also judders at idle, which is particularly worse if you're travelling and then knock it into neutral and come to a stop at the lights. You can feel it in in the back of the seat, sometimes sounds like it wants to stall.
    No fault codes

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

Possibly a leaking EGR cooler but occasionally a porous head which is extremely difficult to confirm.

    Thanks for the reply mate.

How could I diagnose it's a leaky egr cooler? I've read about the BKD porous head, mine's a later version where it says they're extremely unlikely.
Found a small puddle under the centre left of the engine (standing looking at the engine front on) thinking potential pipe split or thermostat?

Managed to make the juddering much better as the pipe going into the ASV had popped out a bit. You can still feel a vibration in the driver's seat and it's not exactly smooth, engine mounts/dog bone?

We take the EGR cooler off and check it but it is a bit of a job, some people bypass the cooling to see if it changes but that could cause problems.

I’m on Easter holidays from next Friday so I’ll take it apart and have a play.
