Car just passed mot and the engine light stayed out for almost a week even after long journeys , however upon starting the car from cold last night , the engine light came back on , there has to be a wiring or connection issue , it cant be faulty coolant temp sensors (both changed OE) also the connector plug changed on sensor 2 , the one with the code error . Just puzzled why the same error code keeps appearing and the engine light is on one day and off another . The car as I said previously is driving ok and the engine temp is normal . I had two different mechanics scan the car before mot test and nothing was in the system memory regarding these faults , after being cleared . If i go down the road of new fans , and it doesnt alter anything it will end up costly so I will try checking the wiring from ecu to both coolant temp sensors starting with sensor 2 as that is the error code fault.

Just got back from the garage , only error showing now was auxiliary water pump open circuit , I have spare one but not sure what model is on my car without getting the drip tray off . I also have the bracket with it so it shouldn't matter if its Buehler or Pierburg in that case as VW just told me they have different fixing brackets thats all . I dont know why though the engine light is showing after that auxiliary pump has been faulty for several years . So the nest job when I can do it is change that pump .)
