Hi , I didn't know how to edit previous thread title so here's a new thread .
Codes are showing as "temperature sensor 2 fault" . I firstly assumed it was possible water infiltration near the ecu as the code came and went several times but this apparently is not the cause . The fault is also raising blocked radiator fan or obstruction and both are free so I assume the temp sensor malfunction is causing a knock on effect here .
There are 2 coolant temp sensors , 1 is egr side , I think the other is near the thermostat , not sure , but what will be the most likely of the 2 sensors causing radiator fan blocked or obstructed?

I changed BOTH coolant temp sensors and the engine light reappeared after 2 days so Then I changed the 2 pin connector plug that feeds sensor 2 as there was significant corrosion inside the terminals . Light went out and has now come back on again codes read same as before . Coolant temperature sensor two reading too high . Radiator fans blocked or restricted . I am just at an end to figure the cause here , fans spin freely and the light resets itself and comes back on numerous times. Does anyone have any ideas please?

The cooling fan (fans) has to be controlled so that allows the engine to maintain a constant temperature. these fans must have a 5v feed with in the spec 4.48-5.2 and is soley worked via ecu via coolant temp sensor. It would not go amiss to check wiring from the 2 sensors to the ecu pin nos ??? can you post up eng code

Found a previous auxillary pump code that flagged possibly still same: P261A00 coolant pump 2 open circuit. Code possibly P2182 for secondary coolant temp sensor reading too high. The car drives ok but engine light is of concern ofc. Both coolant sensors have been replaced OE parts. Engine light constantly lighting and then resetting for few days.

Have you replaced the elctic water pump on the front of the engine? Only use genuine and you need to now if it has Pierburg or BUEHLER fitted.

I actually have one on my passenger seat it was taken of a workmates same engine last night, he seized his when fan belt shredded around bottom pulley. Would this flag the temp sensor code as the auxiliary pump has been open circuit several years.

I just spoke to a mechanic and hes going to run diagnostics to all sensors to measure voltages, it maybe even dirty connector in that loom. As the auxillary pump has been open circuit for several years, Im thinking it unlikely to flag the sensor issue.
