I replaced the oil cap breather and intake pipe and it still starts running rough when it gets up to running temp. Really bad hunting.

Fault code with air mass sensor short/open circuit is still popping up.

    I am now lost.

Could the coolant temp sensor be a issue if there is no fault code?

    Where do I look next

Still also got the issue where theres no piwer, It has its moments, it runs lovely, revs up nice and can be driven but then ill stop and go to pull away and it goes to stall because it doesnt have enough power to even move.

Why did you dismiss the fault code. Air mass sensor short/ open circuit did you not realize the fault code tells 1 its not being powered up so why fit new unit.

As stated last week, i saw AMM fault code and Crasher told me its likely due to it being unplugged whilst engine is running (which i stupidly did) but after revisiting the car yesterday and clearing the codes it does keep popping up so it must been there before, not just unplugging the AMM.

Anyway, Crasher, I checked out the AMM and tested power to it with a multimeter, I have my 5v going to it. The AMM doesn't have a brand on it, or a part number. It looks like a cheap generic part.

I also want to say again that the exhaust is blowing from the exhaust manifold where the downpipe joins, from the gasket.

Get a new genuine VW AMM, part number 06A 906 461 B, at £337.51 these are stupid money but it is the only way you can be 100% sure what you are fitting is correct.
