Hi all, I'm having a problem with my 2006 A6 3.0, recently (within the last few weeks) the battery is occasionally draining flat overnight and needing to be jump started the following morning, some mornings it's fine some it's dead. The battery is only a month or so old and I've had it tested and been told it's fine. The battery health meter on the MMI shows 10% and if I turn the key in the ignition but don't start the engine I get the warning beep saying 'Battery Low'. I've tried coding the battery with OBDEleven which shows the health at 100% on the MMI but doesn't change anything. With the engine running, the heated seats and rear window defroster will only stay on for about 3-4 minutes before turning themselves off. Any help solving this would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

sounds like it could be your BCM - remove the connector and check for corrosion.

Thanks for your reply, where is the BCM located? I'll have a look at it when I finish work.

in the boot beside the battery follow the negative wire off the battery it goes into it. there will be a small 10 pin or so connector. carefully remove it to see if there is any nasty green stuff.

I've taken the connector off and it looks like there is some stuff on the pins/connector

Thanks I'll give it a go. One of the pins looks like it's about to fall off, if it does fall off is replacing the module as simple as buying another and replacing or is there coding to do? Thanks again

I got mine from ECU 2 you off ebay, it came with 3 year warranty and a sticker on - seems silly but if he is going to put his name on it he is going to stand by it - which he has.
I got a few errors of charge current and i asked him if he had any advice - first thing he offered was a replacement. But i then checked it over and i don't think i got all the green stuff cleaned out of the connector so i just cleaned it last night.
Some are programmable some are not mine was not, ecu 2 you did say no programming required, and the option is not there in OBDeleven. There was as a guy with an 06 in a local group, NIAOC, who was able to program his with obdeleven.
