    Hi all as per title my sons 2.0 cbab tdi is throwing p0403 codes,I know this is a common problem however I've scanned the car and it looks like its sticking,just asking about the egr coolant temp -270 ish just wondering where this is located and would this throw the codes. 12:47:19
    IDE00405 Crankshaft speed (RPM) 775.0 /min
    IDE00581 EGR specified value 36.5 %
    IDE01259 EGR Solen.val.: actual value 63.54 %
    IDE03383 Exhaust mass flow of EGR 18.8 kg/h
    IDE04255 Temp sensor for EGR after cooler: raw value -270.6 °C
    A4 B6,A4B7Quattro,MK4 Golf,MK5Golf gone and well forgotten,MK6Golf.

    It may not have a post EGR sensor hence the default open circuit value. I can tell you more with the VIN.

    It does not have a sensor, I should have realised that but I didn’t notice what car it was, it is the standard EGR failure, not worth over thinking it but for God’s sake only fit a genuine DQ revision unit… six hours grind on your back to find the unit you have fitted is faulty can be a little demoralising.

    I hate doing them with the car six feet in the air on a lift, on your back on stands outside in these temperatures with antifreeze dripping in your face... well as a younger man I did endure such misery but now it would finish me off!
