    I am glad you found that, it is a bit long winded to keep doing. For me the only test is to see the canister hold a vacuum, when running the vacuum is constantly topped up which can be misleading.

    thanks for the input i'm leaning towards the actuator as all the visible vacuum hoses (to me) are in good condition. i've heard there is some at the rear of the engine below the turbo for the egr that can split. i will try get a look at them before i order a new actuator. the fault only presents itself once in a while the coil light pops on for a few seconds and the message engine fault visit workshop if it was more frequent or limp mode id be in more of a hurry to sort it out. so many niggles i can see why the seller sold it 😂

    If you apply the vacuum to the source hose to the servo feed pipe, after a few pumps you should be able to pull and hold a vacuum indefinitely.
