    Hi all,

I got a 2018 Passat GTE a few days ago, I am really excited to have a VW again. I already retrofitted a reverse camera, but I have an issue with a LED headlight upgrade.

The car came with the basic reflector LED headlights. I purchased the below wiring adapter kit so I could retrofit the advanced LED lights.

    https://www.kufatec.com/en/volkswage...assat-b8-42225

Importantly, I did not get the LWR module (linked below) that they recommended. The wording made me think that not getting it would mean I didn't have the corning function, which I do not care about right now. My current LWR module (module 55) is 5Q0 908 357. The CAN lines are correctly connected.

    https://www.kufatec.com/en/volkswage...ng-light-42214

I also did not get the coding adapter they sell, as I have VCDS.

    My Problem:
All lights work, except for the full beams (blue dash light).

    My questions:
What coding do I have to do to tell the car that the advanced LEDs are fitted? My VCDS experience was from a Mk4 Golf, so things are more complicated!
At first, I thought the 50 euro coding box was not needed.

There are forum posts elsewhere which show that the headlight modules on the lamps themselves were mismatched to the car, and caused main beam failure. I was careful to buy LED headlights which were the same year as the car. I think I need to figure out what the Kufatec coding box does before I can find out if I need anything else.

    Any assistance would be great.

    Thanks!!

This is all that VCDS has to say about fault codes.

When I take out and reinsert the fuses for the headlights, they both point downwards as part of that initial test they and Xenons do, which I assume is done by the positioning motors.

Which VCDS cable do you have? Have you looked in the coding tables for clues?

Thanks for the reply. It's a HEX interface I borrowed off a mechanic friend of mine, but they are on holidays.

I've looked around the coding section and I can not find anything. There seems to be heaps of stuff in the adaptation section of various modules, but that's totally new to me.

That said, I can turn my hand to this easy enough. I'm just not sure what to code. Maybe my LWR module can do basic led but not the high ones.

    Hi all.

I picked up a new AFS-ECU (7P6 907 357 D) and now both headlights do their dance when the car is switched on.

But I am still none the wiser on what I need to code in module 09, as I can not activate the LED headlight option in module 55 (error 31).

For the sake of a 50 euro coding module from Kufatec, I have really wasted time on this. I just cant seem to find what coding needs to be done. I may have picked up the wrong AFS-ECU too, but now the only error on the dash I am getting is for the cornering light.

Here are my codes: Thanks again for any help!
