    Afternoon.

I'm investigating changing my 4th injector on my car. Every part of my research so far has indicated that when I disconnect the fuel lines with my trusty spanner it will dribble out. However a friend has told me its under alot of pressure and I'd need to bleed the system. Has anyone got any advice on this?

    Kind regards

    Dan

It can be under pressure, about 2000 Bar. Remember that you will have to enter the new injectors IMA value into the ECU.

Thank you once again crasher for your help. I have a mech friend with the whole vcds shabang once its done.

All the videos I've seen of them being changed on CAYC engines. With the battery disconnected. The fuel just dribbles out when they disconnect the lines.

Just be cautious, gloves, eye protection and a cloth over the fitting.

    Hi @Crasher

Do you know if the code you enter for the injectors is for the main body or the solenoid part? (i had to take off the solenoid bit when i used the slide hammer to get it out)

i only ask as the recon one i have got from germany has a different code from the solenoid part that came attached to it. i have been specifically told to use the one hes provided and not the one on the solenoid cap. i realise you don't fit recon parts but this is just to get my run around car working.

    kind regards

    Dan

I do fit remanufactured parts, just not ones even the manufacturer won’t remanufacture; as I often say, Con or recon? When there is a big demand like this, the worms always come out of the woodwork to fleece the inexperienced and both will always be there, I was green and inexperienced once and fell for it. The IMA number on the old one should be the one in the ECU memory and the “new” one have the number printed on top.
