Often when I do an AutoScan faults will be detected. To see if these are just temporary I do a clear all DTCs and re-scan to see if any have reappeared immediately and then a few days later. Other than preventing a service centre seeing these am I causing any other potential problems? Car is a late 2019 diesel Passat.

It is very rare for clearing faults to make things worse, a couple of times over the years I have done a code read on an engine which was slightly off or even just the MIL on and the situation has got much worse because the ECU had compensated for a faulty system and clearing the codes resets that compensation but it is extremely rare for it to happen.
