Hi Everyone, please could anyone share a step by step (with Pictures) how to replace the xenon bulbs on an Audi A8? I have managed to get the air box out, which has given me limited room to get the ballast off the back of the bulb, which I have ordered the bulbs which should be delivered tomorrow. I have attempted many times to put the bulb back in to the housing on the vehicle, which was a bit of a **** but got there in the end, the only issue I'm having is reconnecting the ballast to the back of the bulb. I have read that this need to be put the ballast on to the back of the bulb and then the power cable needs to be inserted once fitted to the bulb housing, which is going to be a right pain. please could someone let me know if the power cable can be fitted to the ballast then the bulb without the ejector plastic kicking the cable back off when fitting back to the bulb housing?

In the cars with just the 1 airbox, you have to take the bumper off and the headlights out.

luckily on my V8 tdi, I removed the air box lids, loosened the headlights to move them about 2 inches. That was just enough to let me get my hands in t9 remove and replace the xenon bulbs.
    A right b4st4rd of a job.

you need the fingers of ET.

you tube has some vids of it for the single air box cars.

    Good luck!

It is not possible to get a camera in to take photos. It is easier to do with the belly pan and wheelarch liner removed but not worth doing that unless you have some other work to do that requires that.
Try removing the two large torx bolts that hold the headlight in and slide it forward as far as possible until it fould on the aperture on the bumper. The bolts are accessed by looking down behind the headlight and require a long socket extension.
