    Hi guys,

My 2.0 tdi recently went into limp mode (or what i assume is limp mode) after driving on when the exhaust gas temperature sensor was faulty. The car couldn't a do a regen because of that and then clogged the DPF. I took the DPF out cut it open, deleted it and welded it back up thinking this would be a cheap solution to fix the problem. Unfortunately the car is still in limp mode (or whatever it is). Would I need to get the DPF mapped out to get the car out of limp mode or could it be another problem elsewhere. Thanks

error codes (on cheap code reader)
    P246E - EGT Sensor
P2463 - Particulate Filter Restricted- soot bank 1
    P0544 - EGT Sensor

You have deleted the DPF but the ECU software still thinks the DPF is there.
The ECU is still seeing the faulty EGT sensors so will remain in limp mode.

You will have to get the DPF deleted from the ECU software, or replace the DPF with a good one & replace the 2 faulty EGT sensors.

I think you were correct when you quoted. Or could it be another problem elsewhere. you cannot take on board what any cheap code reader comes up with can you post up your engine code at lest you know now its not a dpf problem.
