Hi all,is it possible to switch from a set of 17" Audi alloys to a set of 19" Audi alloys with out any issues on a 2014 A6 2.0 TDI auto ultra se.
Will they rub on anything body, suspension, brakes etc. or effect the auto box .

    Many thanks

Should be OK as 19" was a factory option - 19” x 8.5J with 255/40 R19 tyres. If you go with this you should be fine regarding clearance and also keep the speedo true. Not sure what the offset is though, but providing the wheel meets the factory offset then it will be fine

There's a sticker in the driver's door frame with all the wheel and tyre size options, and their respective running pressures.

My car came with a set of 20" rims which I swopped for 17". I spend 50 times longer enjoying the comfortable ride on 17's than slightly regretting the look of the car. My previous cars have included a very comfortable A8 on air suspension and that very much influences my decisions.

Are you saying that the 20" are not as smooth/comfortable on the road versus the 17"

The tyre sidewall and the cushion of air inside the tyre has to absorb imperfections in the road surface as well as the springs. If there is less sidewall, shocks will transmit through the wheels and suspension to the cabin, making for a more uncomfortable ride for passengers

The depth of the tyre sidewall on the 17" wheels is 4.9" and on the 20" wheels it is 3.5". That's almost 30% less tyre to flex over bumps, so the springs have to do more work.

That's exactly what they're saying. Stylee over comfort (and tooth fillings).

Are you referring to extra unsprung weight of the heavier 19" alloy wheels?
