The other thing is, the look, will an SE look as cool with 20” as it is about 1” higher from the ground as an Sline or Black. 1” can make a lot of difference, so I am told…

    Pablo,
As long as you stick with the factory ofset/tyre sizes, you are golden. I went from factory 17" to factory 20". The only thing to think about is the following: for 19" and 20" wheels, they are 8.5j Vs 8j on anything below. On cars with factory 19+, there is an additional metal guard next to the fuel "filling tube". This would be missing if your car is "native 17" or 18"". This is the reason why Audi will tell you that you cannot mount anything bigger than 18".
The part itself if around £30 on eBay (I am on vacation at the moment and don't have the reference handy) but will let you know once back in UK.
BTW I was driving without it for good 3 years w/o any problems.

Re unsprung weight, the set of OE Speedline 20"s (they were option on S6) with the tyres is only 400 grams heavier than my original set of 17" with the tyres. Nonetheless, the ride comfort is significantly better on 17s (I swap summer/winter wheels and feel it every time).
    Hope this helps you...
