    Hello everyone.

I’m known as Rommies and I’m a huge petrolhead! I have had a few vehicles in my life and modded them quite extensively…you can find me on Instagram as “rommiesgp”

It ranged from a Hyundai Tiburon, MK4 Toyota Supra, Golf 6 GTi GTX2867R, Ford Focus ST225 K16, W211 E63 AMG, 2 x ST250’s, Opel Coupe Turbo, MK3 Focus RS, Golf GTi Clubsport Stage 3 Hybrid Turbo etc.

And now….! I recently purchased a 2016 Audi RS3! I dubbed her “Maya”. Unfortunately the 8V2 RS3 (DAZA motor) is out my price range.

The most exciting car I have owned yet (imo)…it makes you “feel so good” with the overrun and crackling from the stock exhaust tone! The drive is also so “heavy & solid” with the DQ500 and Haldex 5 System (Quattro)….love it!! My first time owning a Quattro vehicle.

What is my plans for Maya the RS3? For now, catless downpipe & Stage 1 ECU Remap. When I do find a reasonable priced intake & intercooler system then we can go to Stage 2 ECU & TCU Remap.

But before any modding start, it’s time for some basic TLC. I want to change all fluids.

    Engine oil + Oil Filter
    DSG DQ500 + Filter
    Rear Diff
    Coolant Flush

Then I’ll move onto new uprated coilpacks and sparkplugs (Bar-Tek with NGK Racing Plugs).

I would like to get under the vehicle and inspect the suspension, tie-rod ends, prop shaft, mountings etc.

Once everything checks out…the modding will begin!!

Enough babbling here is some photos of Maya when she recently visited my friend’s detailing shop aka Klean Garage (Instagram aka “kleangarage”)

Basic service done. Now I can sleep.

    New Oil
    New Oil Filter
    New Spark Plugs
    New Ignition Coil Packs
    New Coolant
    New Cabin Filter

First time under the car and I can honestly say not one oil leak / coolant leak. Not even a hint of “oil sweat” - Maya is truly in an excellent mechanical condition and I intend in keeping it that way.

Next year, gearbox / mechatronics & diff service.

    Then some hardware modifications

Oh and I almost forgot to mention:

    Stage 1 ECU Remap
    Stage 2 TCU Remap

    She pulls strong

Quick acceleration video after the Stage 1 ECU Remap & Stage 2 TCU Remap.

    Audi RS3 60-180 km/h Acceleration - Stage 1 - YouTube

Stage 1 tune makes a HUGE difference vs Stock.

Second gear rolling…not bad for this heavy vehicle.

Smooth acceleration, more low down torque, better throttle response, quicker gearshifts etc..

Proof is in the pudding…the logs looks really good.

Spot on AFR’s..smooth boost profile, reaching boost targets effortlessly and very mild timing advance.

What can I say…excellent & sensible tuning from Avon Tuning, like always

Got the chance to apply Detailease Ceramic Nano Guard after the foam wash.

Must be honest, I’m quite impressed with the results. Easy to apply with damp microfibre cloth and wipe off with clean microfibre cloth.

    Nice and shiny!

The VIKA pollen filter is all what I could find on the day that was close to me and in stock.

I have ordered an K&N Cabin Air Filter which is washable, reusable and durable but that is only coming in the new year.

Knowing K&Nooooooooooooooo I don't think that is going to do as a good job as an activated charcoal version with a biocidal layer.

I doubt the K&N will filter nitrogen dioxides and diesel particulates.

Your old cabin filter was at least an activated charcoal one .

hmmmm…thanks for the heads-up..i never really thought about it. Let me check with K&N. If not..I’ll just get an OEM Cabin Filter.
