    Good day all

    2015 2.0 ultra sline black

yellow engine warning light has illuminated, i have only ever used an OBD tool, which gives an error code of P 190 D. Before i book it into my local specialist for investigation is there anything obvious/common i should take a look at?
May or may not be linked, i’ve generally got about 500 miles to a litre of add blue, checking my records i would have expected the “low” warning to have shown by now. I’ve always filled it right up once the warning shows so get around 7.5k between fills.

    Many thanks

    Evening all

Took it into my local specialist , vcds gives the fault code as the -intercooler coolant pump- they’ve cleared the fault and said drive it and see if it comes back, if so they’ll look into it further. Had a search on the site and not much about this pump, is it a part that is likely to fail? They also checked the dpf and said it had pretty low readings for a 78k car and was nothing to worry about.

Turns out it was a mechanical failure of the intercooler coolant pump, now been replaced and all’s well again. Had an oil and filter change, fuel filter, brake fluid change and they fitted discs and pads all round that i supplied ( bought them 2 years ago when audi said they needed changing, were most certainly well worn but warning light still hadn’t come on, easier for garage to do them than me this time of year).
Resulted in a bill that wasn’t quite the start to the year i’d have chosen, but had to be done.

Hi Artiglio, hope all is well with the car now. I have got the same error code (P190D - Coolant pump for charge pressure cooler Mechanical malfunction) and it would be helpful if you could share your experience. How much did it cost to get the part causing the error code replaced and how long did it take? Did you get it replaced by Audi or by an independent garage? What was the reason the part failed in the first place?

Good day, apologies for late reply, lifes been hectic. I can’t find the receipt , but from memory the part and labour came to about £600. This was through a local audi/vw specialist , their labour rates are about half those of audi. Apparently it’s an electric pump and they fail from time to time, the garage do 3 or so a year. If i come across the receipt i’ll be a more accurate.

The common pump is 4H0 965 569 A and the pre September 2015 part was prone to failure. It is not cheap at £295.21 but £600 sounds a lot? We only fit genuine pumps as we have experienced the ECU not recognising aftermarket versions.

The pump must have gone up a few pounds… like a lot of things!

Hi, sorry to jump on this post. My engine management light has come on, p190d fault code. I’ve replaced the coolant pump for the charge pressure cooler, but the fault keeps reappearing. Reading this post, it seems from the picture that a different pump was changed to the one I’ve changed. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
