Hello everyone, last night while I was parking, when I engaged the handbrake, a writing appeared on the dashboard display that reported a handbrake fault with a yellow triangle and a long beep.
The writing did not last long on the display so I could not read what was written. In all cases I took the handbrake off and on again and the problem never happened again.

I just want to clarify that usually when I stop the car, I spontaneously press the handbrake button in sequence and immediately after that the gearbox button to engage the park (P). Could it be that I pressed them sequentially too quickly? It is the first time that such a thing has happened.

    Thanks everyone for the help.

Never seen that but quite possible with the electronics on these cars. I haven't had problems with any of mine but the longest I had one was a 2006 with 130k miles and the parking brake was getting noisy as they wound in and out. It was like that for the last couple of years before i traded it in.

I had an A6 C6 for 10 years and I never had this kind of problem too. I suppose that in this car there is too much electronics... Thank you anyway

I find in my C8 if i do a 3 point turn in my folk’s cul de sac i always get this, as i pull into the turning circle stop then shift to reverse and mannover then shift to drive the dash will bleep parking break fault without fail. I think it wants to automatically put the break on as i shift from drive to reverse and it has a paddy.

Ciao Dean, thank you for your answer.
If I have right understuud, seems that there is a particular sequence that generates the error ?

Mine went in 3 weeks ago and i asked for the car’s systems to be updated, all they updated was the door modules…. Nothing else shows any changes to there numbers,
Half a mile from the dealership i already had two faults re appear then the parking brake and stop start error as soon as i got to my parents house again the following day.
Are the gear changes any better now two?

I have to say you that my issue was only the warning in the virtual cockpit 4 times in the last three months. No differences during the drive and in the gearbox behavior. So I can't answer you if now the car is better or no because I don't see any differences.

Ok, i was told there was a gearbox update that speeds up the changes as sometimes pulling away just seems like slipping the clutch.

...may be a little difference...today during a stop at semaphore I have seen on the display that with the car stopped (engine on) there was written D1 .... in the past (I'm not sure at 100%) i saw D and the gear number was written only when the car was moving ... bat, as told before, it may be only my impression ...
