Good evening all. Ordered a new Style ehybrid yesterday to replace a mark 7.5 GTD that's no longer doing the mileage it was bought for. I know, I may live to regret that...

Anyway, I downloaded a September 2021 price and specification guide before VW removed it from their website (!) which says that with Style spec side assist is only available with manual gearbox and emergency assist only comes with dsg. Presuming that's correct, can anyone explain why?

If sensors detect the driver is incapable of driving, Emergency Assist will activate the hazard lights and bring the vehicle to a controlled stop within its lane. The latter would not be possible with a manual gearbox, only an auto.

No idea on the Side Assist point.
