Is there any way of turning rear dome lights on from front of car without turning front lights on as well? Kids often want the rear lights on but I want front to stay off when I’m driving.

2018 Q7 but probably similar in most modern Audis.

We can do rear lights in our 2016 Golf so would hope to in a more modern car.

Would someone mind replying, even if it’s to tell me it’s not possible.

    thanks.

    Hi,

If I remember well, then this kind of need/feature was never discussed here before, so probably nobody knows the answer for your question. If there is a trick to do it, then maybe it's unknown yet.

Maybe we can find it out, but first please help us: How can you achive this in a Golf?

I have the earlier version of the vehicle which does not have the SOS button. Instead there is a Rear Light button in the exact location of the SOS button. The button does what you are looking for - it opens or shuts all the rear LED reading lights... Not sure how this would work in the newer version of the vehicle..

the roof panel of my Q7 looks like this:

Thanks, same as on ildiablos car, the Golf has a specific button for this as per the image below. Seems like a backward step to remove the functionality.

    Thanks

Guess they ran out of space for buttons so some must go I would take the light switch over the SOS button though... Apparently there are always small changes here and there for the same model cycle, you wouldn't notice unless you own a few cars of the same model across the years.. The other one I know is that they got rid of the door pocket sensor light in later iterations, it was something quite useful but for cost savings maybe?...
