Can anyone advise why the inside of my rear tyres keeps wearing out?

Ive had the the tracking down on the rears (toe and camber adjustment)....

but over time they still seem to keep wearing on the inside of the tyre?

    any suggestions?

i replaced all the rear suspension components (other than the axle guide / rear trailing arm part number 1K0 505 223 K)

the rear struts are also new too?

i thought it may have been the wheel was out of shape but have had them balanced and checked but are all ok?

So springs, dampers and bump stops new? When done (we usually fit Powerflex into the lower inner of the spring arm) we have our alignment centre set the camber up on the positive side of the tolerance and then set the tracking to dead on spec, this seems to solve the problem. Certain designs of tyre are more prone to this than others, we found the Uniroyal Rainsport 3 was very susceptible to inner wear on PQ35/46 platforms but the new Rainsport 5 seems not to suffer.

Yes replaced the springs and the rear struts / dampers as you call them.....didn’t replace the bump stops though....

Also didn’t replace the top shock absorber bearing.....

    I’ve been using Goodyear efficient grip (195 65 R15).

Can’t seem to find the Uniroyal Rainsport 5 in this size though?

I would use the Rain Expert 3 in that size.

So recommendations going forward are to get tracking done as you described above and replace tyres with rain expert 3?

if the wear continues to happen will I have to consider poly bushes / power flex to resolve the issue?

Yes, camber set to the positive side of the tolerance and then tracking to spec. Were the rear bump stops in good condition?

From memory they were present but probably weren’t in good condition.

What does the bump stop actually do and how will it help? Does it prevent excessive travel? Didn’t think it would be up to much as only a bit of foam?

Which components should be replaced from the ETKA figure below?

Also out of interest what components should replaced on the front shocks too? Think from memory there are a few more parts in this one? I’ll attach image as well for this.

Also where is actually decent for getting tracking done? And will they actually do what you ask if you tell them to put camber on the positive side of the tolerance and tracking (is this the toe adjustment?) dead on spec?

Do you have the actual values for the toe and camber?

I guess these are in the workshop manuals somewhere?

Camber is camber, toe is tracking, alignment centres have the data. The rear bump stops are as you say travel limiters, a rising rate spring and their condition is vital to prevent alignment changing squat.

@Crasher what are the part numbers for the bump stop? I am seeing 2 variants. If you can confirm would be great. Thanks.
