Stranded in France

Hello everyone, thanks for reading my introduction. My title is a bit of a joke, I live here in France - but I certainly do feel pretty stranded in terms of getting reliable repairs and knowledge here for my two A4s - a 2000 B5 Quattro estate TDI and a 2002 B6 130 "Sport" sedan. Hence my joining the site. I have a couple of current issues but obviously I'll leave that to the appropriate sections.
My personal taste is for original, non-modified cars. I bought the 2002 for next to nothing just because of the oxidised and sun-damaged paint, but soon sorted that out with a machine polisher. Mechanically, it's great and I really like keeping it in good condition. The 1.9 Quattro estate, a 2000 B5, is my favourite but annoyingly seems to have a head gasket problem so I am trying a few things to rule out first. She is also all-original, in really great condition and quite low mileage (140k). I plan to use her for the mountains during winter.

Welcome to the forum. Paint looks to have come up well. The 1.9 engine is great - i have looked at a few here but rust is the biggest issue.
