So, an update. I took the car to my local VW specialist as I was on the way home from work and passing. They had just changed the timing belt etc so just to be on the safe side…. As Crasher has also suggested they wanted to change both pressure sensors and see how the car got on. As we were about to go on holiday and delivery on the sensors was while we were on holiday, we decided to add a fuel additive which would clean the exhaust system etc. Tried this went to Wales for the week so lots of up and down hills with gear changes and no return if the error. I then returned to work and went on a job where I drove about 500 miles over three days and still all good. Bonus! The car now needed servicing which I completed on Saturday. Oil, Oil Filter, Ait Filter and Pollen Filter. While I had the air box apart I noticed that there was spot on the side of the car next to the exhaust. I checked the connections I could get at and one appeared a bit loose so tightened it up. Off to London on a job and then to Bristol and today the light can back on. 😭. I don’t think it’s the sensors but an exhaust leak causing the issues. I have tried to take some pictures but there is not a lot of room and the exhaust was still hot. Air box fully removed from the car. Any ideas. Pictures to follow.

Same code as before. Taken to local VW specialist today and booked in next week for sensor replacements and forced regen. Bid odd though as when checked with vcds it said it was 300000+m since last regen and they can’t read the mileage with vcds. Hope it’s not been clocked

If the loading is over 40% it won't allow a regen. I have seen some bizarre figures about historic regens, I just don't take any notice, only the soot and ash figures.

The fault code p2002 covers a multitude i certainly would of gone down the same road pointing to differental pressure sensor (dps) but not before proper checking on this model ie its 5v feed via ecu the exhaust flap motor & gear position sensor & differental pressure sensor shares the same 5v feeds & earths via ecu pin nos a13-a15-a37

So both sensors changed today and a full DPF regen forced through which completed successfully. Garage has asked me to see how it goes and if the fault comes back then they are recommending a new DPF

It won't need replacing, just get them to send it to DPF Clean Team, excellent people.
