    Hello,

My car failed the test on front R/H lower suspension arms.

I am now suffering from a clever bugger idea I had.

I thought that if I had more room under the wheelarch it would be easier to do, big error!

I had not thought that the suspension strut would be fully extended and giving me not enough space to connect it to the front suspension strut.

I tried dropping the car to the ground with all tyres in contact with the ground, turning off jacking mode, changing the height setting to a lower mode and then I would have more space. No go, it kept changing back to jacking mode, despite the height sensing lever being connected to the front lower suspension arm.

I have now removed the strut completely, hoping the lack of air would allow the strut to return to a lower setting. No it refuses to budge.

I would really appreciate positive suggestions as soon as possible,

Regards to you all from a silly ****.

Update, I managed to reduce the length of the suspension strut by using a lightweight ratchet strap, the type you hold loads down with in a truck, by doing this I have got the suspension strut back in place. The issue now is getting the top suspension stays back into the front suspension pivot. They don't want to go, but the sun is blazing down into the front of my garage and I am sweating buckets, so having a rest for the time being.

Thank you Stewart, I did look at Elsawin but in the end I had to resort to brute force and big tools, but for anyone facing a similar problem I heartily recommend a lightweight inch wide ratchet strap to compress the strut without which it wouldn't be done. DON'T PUT THE CAR IN LIFT POSITION IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!

The car with all the suspension in place will now still not turn off jacking mode, and when the new suspension heights are entered, when you go back to them they are at zero, showing error code 01437. I wonder if after my problems mentioned earlier, I have damaged the air strut. I have no idea how to turn the jacking mode setting off, on the MMI display the options are greyed out.

When the car is driven the jacking mode turns itself off, but as soon as you stop in comes on again, the yellow warning light stays on all the time.

Apologies to members for wasting their time, stupidity with age setting in. Channel 5 when entering the suspension height settings in adaptation mode was not completed. Now works fine.
