My wife has a 2003 beetle and the heating element of both door mirrors has packed up recently.I take it that it is the heating elements. as to me it seems a bit of a coincidence that they have both gone together, or could it possibly be a fuse or other issue? I am wondering whether it is easy to remove the glass and replace it myself if need be, or do I need a special tool? Thank you

check fuse pos 1 in fuse box, to remove the mirror press it in at the top and use a plastic lever and wedge it out at the bottom
