Hi all sorry not to have said hello earlier, anyway I have a 2005 Audi A6 C6 2.7tdi quattro avant. A few weeks ago it spluttered and died! 17&1/2 hours later the RAC appeared found code P1545, cleaned the throttle body and the car has run fine apart from lack of throttle response at low revs but now the engine management light has come on with code P2108, it will clear using a obd11 adaptor and stays off when cold but when its warm and i start the engine, on comes the light, is this combination of codes point to a new TBA is required or what? If i fit a new unit does it need setting up by Audi to get the car running? Sorry for the lengthy post but all these electronics frighten me, thanks for any help.

Hello and welcome. I am a bit suspicious of the second code read but yes it points to the inlet manifold flap after the boost hose, part number 4E0 145 950 J they don’t require adaptation, this is a revised part number for the early 4 wire unit. From Audi these are a daft £707.95 so we source a Pierburg/VDO OE aftermarket unit which are much less, we avoid all the none OE makes if possible

Thanks for that, the P2108 came up when the engine management light came on, the explanation reckons that it covers the p1545 code? Maybe an Audi belt and braces job.

I see a lot of odd fault code reads people have retrieved or been given both at work and on forums, if is isn’t VCDS or ODIS that has been used I pay little notice except maybe a glance back to see how it compares and even then I won’t act on a code until it has been generated by us
