    Hello,

Where I live the temperature can get quite hot in summer, sometimes up to 39C and when my car is parked in full sun the inside temperature can be scalding.

The top of the front seat backs have become detached three times, despite regluing them with different adhesives.

First I tried neoprene (Like evo-stik) glue which seemed like a good idea, but after a few weeks they came off again. I then tried some Pattex glue which is supposed to be the business but again they have parted company with the seats.

Has anyone else had this problem and if so was it satisfactorily resolved and with what product,

    Thanks,

    Michael

The original glue appears to be neoprene.

I would probably use Polyurethane panel adhesive for that but you would need to devise a way of holding it together for a few hours

OK but not being in the motor trade I do not know where to get that type of adhesive and wonder if that was better why Audi would not use something like that, securing the seat back in place would not be an issue, by putting a strap around the seat. It deforms the side squabs of the seat a bit but after a few days or so they go back in place.

You should be able to get such a product anywhere, I have seen Sikaflex in DIY shops.

You just need to spread out the tangs on the 3 clips, no glue needed.
The clips have 2 stages this is why the back does not fall out completely.
