    HI,

I need some help with my mk5 TDI 2004, I am having issues with my rear brake lights constantly on

so the issue is both rear lights constantly on and middle brake light on the window, when the ignition is off and you apply and you apply the brakes they all seem to be working.

Changed the brake switch, checked fuses, checked VCDS cleared codes,

    on VCDS keeps showing 16995
VAG 16955 - Brake Light Switch (F): Implausible Signal - intractable problem,

on the insurtument cluster the glowplug light is flashing, the rear disc pads light isnt going also and they have been changed.

    thanks for your help.

I have had this before on very early Golf 5 and it was the clutch pedal Hall Effect sensor, disconnect the switch, a pain to get your hand down to, and see if the brake lights work correctly.
