This is embarrassing. I am simply looking to disconnect the connectors to the fan assembly on my 2009 Audi A3 Sportback. The part number is 1K0 906 234. I thought after 5 VWs and 3 Audis I had seen most types of connector but this one has defeated me.

I have slid back the little red tab. I cannot see any other latch. It does not seem to want to separate. Sprayed penetrating oil into it.
I am now thinking brute force, but thought I better ask first.

Is there a trick that I am missing? (Yes, I have tried pushing it together first).

Any suggestions from those that know please.

    Thanks Stuart

Update: It seems that I needed to apply "well applied force of some magnitude" before it opened. The only latch is the little red tab that I pulled back. I suspect that the 'rubber' seal had 'welded' itself to the plug. A toolmakers clamp made levering the connectors apart with a screwdriver a possibility.

Removal of the radiator did require removal of the front grill. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-lxnN0iUb4 covers this.

    Thanks for the reply SheffieldYorky.
