After recent repairs to my car and some long runs it is still not right with lots of DPF regenerations and the smell of diesel when the DPF is regenerating when in traffic. Spent some time today checking everything out and believe the issue to be a hairline crack in the weld of the DPF! Can this be fixed. Have seen J-B Weld extreme heat and thought I would give it a go!

I would guess its fixable otherwise the ones who cut them open to remove the contents wouldn’t ever close them up.

Can JB weld take 800 degrees C? It needs stainless steel welding.

Have just spoken to the DPF cleanteam. Going to have it welded! Should be an expert at removing this in the end!

Sold the car rather than suffer the pain of taking it all apart again.
