    B7 Rear pad change

Hi all, fitting some new springs to the back of my estate passat today and thought, why not change the pads and discs as well, the pads are worn down to a couple of mm and the discs as quite worn.

So i connected vcds and a battery charger, wound back the parking brake, removed the old pads but there isnt enough room to fit the new pads, so i refitted the old pads, reset the parking brake and then applied the parking brake, checked the rear wheel and its locked solid, so i guess i can rule out a sticking rear caliper piston.

any ideas, i dont want to ruin my rear motors

hi crasher, no the driver side went back with vcds, the passenger side wont go back more than a few mm. I cycled the motors using vcds now ive got an error code and warning on the dash, going to order a new motor and try that, will get a backup from the vcds first before doing anything

hi, been out to car, used vcds and this time its cleared the code, i assume either the caliper is sticking or there is an issue with the motor on that side, the kit that i have for winding the caliper back - after motors have been retracted has a left and right tool, the drivers side caliper went back no issues after moving motors back, so i guess this points more to a damaged piston in the caliper.
