    2.4 ltr petrol 2003 A4 Avant Estate B6

I have been longtime user of Haynes Workshop Manuals but they don’t seem to make one for my car?

Is there anything ‘close enough’ or any DIY useable alternative?

Bentley do one for A4 B6, but it doesn't include the 2.4 L engine. They are produced for the US market, so I guess that engine wasn't sold there.

I use the Bentley manual for my A4, and it covers my engine. There are a few minor differences in other sections, but nothing important so far.

Sign up to https://erwin.audi.com/erwin/showHome.do .It costs 7€ an hour or 30€ a day, if you organise yourself with a good 100 meg of disc space with folders in such as engine, tans, brakes, electrics etc plus a print to pdf program you can download and save as a pdf the entire dealer level workshop system including wiring diagrams as technical product information notices. Offline as a pdf the http links don't work but if you have downloaded and saved everything that is a minor issue. yesterday I needed some info on a 2017 S3 which was too new for my copy of ElsaWin and in an hour I downloaded and saved all the wiring diagrams, engine and TSB's including being interrupted multiple times.

    Wow. $169.95!

I don't think the remaining life span of the car will enable me to get anywhere near value for money out of that.

That is a bit expensive, mine cost £63 in 2016. But I've needed it many times and it has saved me making some expensive mistakes. I take it with me when on long trips, e.g. to Spain, which is handier than a digital version.

There is a used Haynes manual for your year here, but it doesn't include your engine. https://www.worldofbooks.com/fr-fr/l...E#GOR001203673

Well, I finally did it. Signed up and paid for a day (rather than an hour) which was just as well because it took me more than an hour to get used to the website! I suppose I'll go back and download the wiring 'manual' (don't suppose I'll ever use it but I have paid for it so .....).

Thanks for the info. I printed out a 4 pages and handed them over to the local mechanics and they, apparently, helped matters (either that or the mechanics were being polite).

The key thing with the wiring diagrams is understanding how to read them, most peoples eyes go fuzzy but I think they vey clever and easy to follow follow part of the principle of the London Underground map in that the lines have no bearing on their length or run of of the wiring or the components position as do you really need the wiring diagram to show you were a headlight is?
