Had my car in for a service the other week, they performed an update on it.

Ever since that update, ive had to turn off the speed sign recognition as it thinks im in europe. Going past a 70mph sign drops it down to 44mph and back up to 70 constantly. Also, wont let me overtake any cars with cruise on as it thinks im undertaking. Never used to be like this before the update.

Does anyone else have similar issues?

Ive seen a vid where this is mentioned.

I had this issue twice as well as others. Check my latest comment in rejection advice... I ended up rejecting my car.

VW were never able to solve identify the issue.

    Basically though their software sucks.

I have 2 sources for this.

1 - Mechanic at VW who told me the new software runs on much of the mark 7 hardware which it isn't designed for.
2 - Software engineer friend in Germany who worked on the team that wrote the code told me that they wrote the software for a particular hardware specification, then when they finally received the hardware to run tests the hardware was not what was expected and the software didn't work. They had to hack in a bunch of fixes to make it compatible, but what that essentially means is that the code which is running is a mess.

we’ve only had our Golf just over week. We have traveled north this weekend so motorway driving. And all started well, then the car couldn’t decide if it was on European roads or in the UK. One moment it wouldn’t let you overtake the next undertake, In the end I turned it off.
also the sat nav, started well with traffic updates and reroute options. Again only lasted a few miles before that failed and became just a route map 🤬. It did show connected to the servers as the globe remained lit.
ps also had the 90mph show on the sign recognition 😡.
