From what I’ve gathered these are common issues among these engines of certain model years. I really hope that it wasn’t anything serious but I’ll find out what’s what tomorrow. Not holding my breath on it to be cheap.

So it seems that the rattle from engine is due to camshafts and my mechanic mentioned to me to replace all 4. Not a cheap job by any stretch of imagination so he asked me t contact Audi UK to see if they will contribute as good will given that I’ve had this and 3 other cars from them but given that mine is out of warranty and isn’t maintained by them I doubt there’ll be any help from them. I may just have to foot the bill to get the cams replaced.

That’s £2150 in cams alone… The roller rockers have been upgraded twice and are now, 059 109 417 S at £14.98 each

Yep, as I said it won't be cheap at all. Which is why I'm gonna try my luck with Audi. Not much hope but let's see what they say.

Y0ur oil pressure on this vehicle has to be checked out first & foremost. Your cams runs on a cushion of oil like all cam & crankshafts. If you go ahead and fit cams then find out you have a oil pressure system fault. Always air on the side of caution

This family of engines have electronically adjustable oil pump and oil pressure is signifficantly lowered in part load conditions to reduce engine load and emissions. We do have solution to bring it up it helps to prolong lifespan of camshafts and makes engine less noisy. Them engines are known for catastrophic failures due to reduced lubrication.
