actually, does the flexible intake from the air box not have a vacuum line connection on the underside, between MAF sensor and throttle body...?

Not sure. At this present moment in time I have lost faith in VW

As per my other post telling me I need to pay £XXXX + vat just to get the little seal/screen!!

    Hi all,

So the engine I picked up to resolve my seal/screen/filter concern (VVT post)

Had the pipe connected to the inlet manifold!!

It goes from the breather pipe that runs along the back of the engine to the forth stub immediately behind the throttle body(counting from the left when viewing engine from the front of the car)

When all installed in the car I will get updated photo

Photo below of what I found (Yes I broke the the little plastic pipe)

That is the tank and crankcase breathing system, those early “recyclable” plastic pipes would start recycling themselves well before they should.

Had a load of family stuff to sort over the weekend.

Come Monday evening I will do a compare with my original inlet manifold with the one from the second engine

    Hi All,

Well returned form a few family days away, to find something/someone as scored all down passenger side of the car and rear quarter!!!!

So after having the local spray guy round (he lives 6 houses away from me) and given my a quote to basically paint the whole side of the car.

It is with heavy heart I have decided to break the car, I just cannot afford to get it sorted out!!

I will be listing the cars on Ebay etc

Yet again many thanks to all the kind help and assistance, such a mine of information
