We are staring to do quite a lot of full rear axle restoration and floorpan corrosion treatment on Golf 5 GTI’s now which seem to be gaining classic status and a full on total rebuild or replacement of every single part with (even new arms powder coated) and completely bushed with Powerflex new dampers, springs, bearings, hubs and calipers, drop links and anti roll bar can cost £5k! We did a standard rebuild a few weeks ago and with just Febi and Meyle parts and no Powdercoating, that was nearly £2k.
IM Axle Specialists Ltd seem to have registered themselves as a private limited company back in 2012, and registered their domain name as far back as 2009. Their trading location isn't on their site (why do companies do that? - it never looks good!), but it is on their ebay business details. I see they have been on ebay since 2007.

I noticed Practical Classics mag posed the question whether the mk4 had become a potential practical classic last issue! I suppose as you say it's the GTI/R32 effect (it's quite common to see mk5 R32s north of £10K now).

I might have a bit more of a prod at the beam next time I'm under there.

Thanks for the advice as always.
