Hi guys and gals! Can anyone help, just had my MK4 GTTDI serviced today at my local garage because my nearest VW garage is miles away. My garage done a full service and replaced the timing belt, but they said they could not reset the "SERVICE NOW" warning light as their computer could not identify it. I've read in the performance VW mag that you can buy the little plug in fault finders or the more expensive VAG COM's and reset it that way, VAG COM is out of the question as i don't have a lap top. Will the £49.99 version reset it???

Thanks for the tip mate, just tried it and found out my trip reset button doesn't work. Its the only button on the car that doesn't work!
How the hell do i get the service warning light off without taking it to a main dealer? will one of them GENDAN FAULT READERS do it?

What year is your golf, cause the pre 2002 ones are a menual reset and post 2002 are a computer reset, if your trip button does not work then there is not much you can do other than going to vw or a vw specialist. To see what they can do .
