Audi A7 BiTDI poor mpg

Hey guys,

so i have a 2016 A7, and im getting around 350 miles from a full tank (of premium shell V power) and approx 22-25mpg local and a max of 30mpg on the motorway. Is this to be expected? I really did expect abit more 40ish on the motorway at least. Im not really heavy footed and even if i drive like a nun im struggling to get anything over 30. Thoughts?

I get around 40 if I drive like a nun and 30 with city/spirited driving. 3.0 v6 tdi fwd.

Damn! The car has been serviced with a oil, filter and air filter change. The only other thing i can think of would be the fuel filter which was changed by audi in 2019 apparently. Surely the Bitdi cant be that much more thirsty?

More turbos means more fuel in afraid! My 2006 A3 2.0 140bhp still gets 55mpg on the motorway

My 2020 S7, 3.0L V6 Twin Turbo 349BHP, gets 50+ cruising at 70 on the ACC but more “fun” driving, usually clocks in around the 30-35 mark???

wow really? thats mental. mine is a 2016 so an older generation. i would expect 40 on the motorway from mine though. not sure if something needs replacing

Oh, and that’s on regular diesel by the way. I can’t say I’ve tried the V-Power stuff!

Typically, out of a maybe 70 litre tank I get about 500-520 miles between fills.

Clear them and drive it again for a week and see what comes back, my A7 comes up with all kinds of weird and wonderful dtcs that never come back.

Clear the codes, the one that would concern me the most of your list is the Reductant Valve closed one, keep an eye on that one.

As for mileage, on my 2015 3.0Tdi Allroad I get 550 miles to a tank on the CRTE engine, I also mainly run in comfort mode and use Costco Premium Diesel.

Change your fuel filter, it can make a difference, its beneath the drivers seat above the under body protection, takes 20 mins to swap out.
