My CTEK MXS 5 is telling me I might be needing a new battery soon.

    It has the original Varta 7P0 945 105 12V 68Ah 380A DIN 680A EN/SAE/GS AGM Stop/Start fitted.

This precise model does not come up when Googling but more 096 models.

What's a good direct replacement, Varta, Bosch, Exide (expensive) without requiring any software programming.

    Thanks

7P0 945 105 would be something to do with the rear lights of a Touareg 2 if it was a good number, the battery would be 7P0 915 105 and now 000 915 105 CC by my reckoning. I had been using Yuasa as TPS were pushing them but I had multiple failures of the EFB and AGM type, I put a Bosch in Mrs Crasher Polo and that failed after 6 months and now we solely fit Varta OE “Like-for-like” so a Varta 570901076D852 in your case and yes, a 096 type going by the old British Battery Manufactures Association system.

It may be getting close as the charger now requires using recon during most charges. Are there any special things I must do before removing the old and fitting the new.

If it is a stop start car it should be coded into the battery monitoring unit.

Starting well and no issues with S/S. sounds like I should keep it a while longer.
