    Hi all,

I was wondering if you guys could help me diagnose what this noise sounds like. I took it a few months ago to a garage and the noise would not replicate and I was told to let it get worse. I had it checked a few weeks ago and nothing was found. The issue is whenever I drive for a while the sound goes away and can’t be heard either on braking or driving so it's a bit of a pain!

    The noise -
It seems a scraping sound sometimes when I start driving and sometimes intermittently while I am driving, it comes from the back left tyre area in my opinion. I have noted if I leave the car parked with more pressure on the back it starts with a larger scraping which gets better ie less heard. Which is just as bad when I am braking. If the car is parker flatter, then it's not heard much and the noise at braking is only sometimes heard.

I was originally thinking, maybe it was the CV Joint but recall the mechanic pulled at it and didnt find any movement. If it was, it may make some sense as the brake disk may be scraping at a angle hence the scrape or disk is being affected?
The had the tyre changed and it was close the pad and disk but did have pad left on there from what I saw. Then I was thinking maybe the disk is slightly swollen but again was unsure.

So I thought, lets get my action cam and I managed to stick inside and recorded the sound as whenever I drive for a while the sound goes away.

I would appreciate any help or advise on what you guys think it sounds like or pointers! Thank you all in advance

Sounds like a pad wear indicator, the metal strip type scraping the disk - have you checked to see if either of the pads have one and / or are worn excessively?

Next on my list would be the backplate - if bent and touching the disc or other metallic object trapped between disc and plate would also make this noise.

Not much else would make such a metal against metal sound as consistently as you are hearing.
