Hi. Can anyone help? I've just replaced the throttle body on my 1.4 TSi because it was throwing up code P0638, erratic idle and limp mode. Issue fixed, and car running fine now.

Upon inspecting the old part (03F133062B) which is fairly common on many VAG petrol cars, I noticed the butterfly valve opened but wouldn't automatically return to the closed/idle position.

I opened the unit up, and found the issue... a snapped tension spring. The unit has been on the car since new, only just out of warranty, and has covered only 26K miles.

    Q. Does anyone know where I could source a replacement valve return spring?

VW dealership only sell whole units. A couple of throttle body repair companies said they couldn't help for other reasons. Manufacturer (Magneti Marelli) not responding to contact.

Any links or advice most welcome. Thanks in advance to the community.
