    Hey all,

So my new-to-me 2012 A7 came with 21" 7 double-spoke genuine alloys that, while looking great, are just not practical on a lot of the roads I drive on.

On top of that is the point that I do a lot of long motorway trips, and the thoughts of being stuck 90 minutes from home on a weekend night with the space-saver doesn't fill me with joy - not least because at 50 mph you become a rolling roadblock for everything from cars to 40 ft trucks.

The plan therefore is to change the alloys for 19" equivalents (I'm raging that I didn't get the dealer I bought this from to swap them over when I traded in), and get a fifth full-size for the boot.

    Questions....

    - Will any genuine 19" alloys from an A6/7 fit? Would it take 18s as an alternative? I'd rather comfort and cheaper/more tire options than looks if it came to it
    - Has anyone swapped the space server for a full size like I'm thinking. I know it'll probably be too tall, but will it fit the width of the wheel well?
    - On that latter point, my previous 2010 A6 had a floor mat with a built-in "hump" to accommodate the size of the spare. Has anyone ever heard of somewhere that will either supply or alter the existing mat to fit in the same way?

    Thanks in advance

19 or 18 is a good choice. I have 18 on a 2011 car. A full size in the wheel well will be very high. Not worth the hassle since average puncture is once every 80k miles.

Cheers. I wasn't sure if it would take 18" alloys to be honest. It's the 245bhp Quattro model and I remember there were issues with my previous A6 would take because of the brake discs or something like that.

My 2013 Bitdi A6 is on 18 inch and as far as I know, only the S6 or RS6 may have bigger brakes so clearance shouldn’t be a problem.
