Before I make the dreaded call to a dealer I’m enquiring to see if anyone else has a similar issue that has been resolved.
I have a 2018 (69 plate) 50tdi that I have owned from new. It has recently developed an awful ‘rattle’ similar to the old London taxis. It only occurs when accelerating in the lower gears though it can sometimes sound a little ‘rough’ when at idle.
I have seen similar issues reported on FB and one thread on this forum. On FB a faulty oil pump was the source of the issue which was changed under warranty as a result of a service bulletin but also mention has been made of the cam belt guides being the culprit.
Has anyone else had a similar issue or have knowledge of this service bulletin? I would ask the owner who had the oil pump changed but he is no longer on the Q7 fb page having disposed of said Q7😁
I just want to be in possession of some facts in case the dealer tries to fob me off.
