Hi I am new to this forum and I am looking for some help please. I am working on a 2012 Polo 1.2 petrol. When the battery is connected the ignition is permanently on. It is not the ignition switch and I am suspecting a faulty terminal 15 relay, but I have no idea where to look if indeed the car has one. I have tried all the relays in the relay holder and even unplugged the BCM but the ignition still stays on. Any ideas Please?

    Cheers John

I need you to private message me the REG but off the top of my head the KL15 relay has 645 printed on top, did one on a Golf 7 today.

The line 15 feed to fuses SB2 (wipers), SB9 (CAN BUS), SB3 (engine ECU, fuel pump relay and BCM) and SB26 (oil level sender) plus the starter relay and light switch are direct from the ignition switch on the 4mm csa black wire from terminal 2/15, there is no kl.15 relay.

Thank you for your input. I went along and pulled all the fuses one by one and found that when I removed a fuse that was in position 25 it turned the ignition off and I was able to use the key again! Job done, except I now have a problem with the engine ecu coming up with an immobiliser problem. Engine starts and then stalls.

    cheers John

I need to look up SB25 at work to see why it had this effect.

I believe that the 'fused' end of fuse 25 is live all the time and is connected to 'terminal 15'. I need to check out a wiring diagram as I am convinced that there is a short on one or more of the cables. Does anyone have access to a wiring diagram showing 'terminal 15' please?

    Cheers John

You can download everything for the car from https://erwin.volkswagen.de/erwin/sh...ediateLogin.do, it will cost you about £5 for the entire cars genuine VW manual if you are organised, have the disc space and a print to pdf program you know how to use... at worst it will cost you a tenner.

SB25 is feed by the ignition switch, do you have a device plugged into the diagnostic socket?

The only device plugged into the diagnostic socket is my scanner. I understand that SB25 is fed by the ignition switch but it is the other side of the fuse which has a permanent 12v on it. I need to isolate all of the circuits on this connection (hence the wiring diagram) to find where the 12v is coming from. The AC unit is the first i have disconnected and the 12v is still there!

    Cheers John
