    Hello all,*

I've noticed lately that my Polo's AC is not cooling enough. I suspect that AC system needs to be re-gassed.*

Does anyone know what should be the low-side and high-side pressures in bar when AC compressor is off *and what should be when AC compressor is on? I know values may differ because of many factors but let's say pressure values when engine's temperature is 90°C (warm engine 194 Fahrenheit) and outside temperature 25-30°C (77-86 Fahrenheit).

Do a fault code scan, it has pressure monitoring which is usually around 8 Bar.

Last year this time I re-gassed system and pressure was 2.2 bar when compressor is turned on and 6 bar when compressor is turned off. AC worked fine and few days ago since last autumn I've turned on AC and again just hot air is blowing. Is there a way via VCDS to check if AC compressor is dead or some other problem with AC system?

Mrs Crasher has a 9N3 on which I can hear the compressor is on its way out but it is the old style clutch unit whereas the 1.4 TDI was cursed with the constant drive modulated delivery design which has proved to be incredibly unreliable, we have replaced hundreds but hardly ever the old design, they reduce CO2 emissions so its OK, apparently . There is a special diagnostic tool you can plug into the compressor to help diagnose it but you don't need it, the way we look at it is "no codes, no chill, new compressor". We would be sourcing a Denso DCP32005 but there is a huge choice from many quality manufacturers; I would avoid recon units, just new outright.
