Hi, I'm picking up my next Golf next week; it's a 70 reg 1.5tsi Style 150 from VW approved stock. Dealer has told me they don't come with spare wheel these days, is that correct? If it is should I expect there to be some other provision to fix a puncture eg sealant can?

Changing from 17 reg 1.4tsi Match Edition; anything else to beware of?

Welcome to the Mk8 world! My Style surprisingly came with a spare wheel rather than a puncture repair kit/compressor.

You may have noticed from other posts the Mk8 can be prone to some issues with travel assist and the displays but it was only for some vehicles with a certain software and hardware combination. Personally, I've not had any problems with mine for months (touch wood). Lookout for the rear interior light coming on/off when it fancies too.

Mine was bought as an ex demo motor and came with a space saver spare but standard issue, unless specified as an option, I understand is a tube of gunk in lieu of the real thing. The Dealer should be able to source one for you but how much I've no idea. As mentioned software bugs have been an issue so fingers crossed for you. Mine is in for software updates in a couple of weeks. Nice car though but too reliant on software as all modern cars seem to be.

AFAIK they deleted the space saver for my21 cars and now it's an inflation kit unless you pay for the spare, it's about 150 quid.

Another quick query, I have 2 usb c ports on the console in front of the gear lever. Should I be looking for others?

There might be two in the rear but those are for charging only. On the centre console between the two front seats.

Not sure if that's standard on all models.
