    Hi Crasher,

    I've opened the T5's up and can not see any obvious issues. Any other ideas?
    I guess I'm at the end of my knowledge/skills and will need to take it to VW dealer and £££ for them to diagnose , which I was hoping to avoid.

    Thanks for your help and guidance it's appreciated.

    If it is wiring I would expect the problem to be in the rubber conduit between the tailgate and the roof.

    Just checked and can not see any exposed wires there either.

    I stripped but could not see any issues.

    I've decided to take a punt and remove and replace the locking mechanism. I'm thinking it could be the motor or actuator.

    What driver do I need on this? Is it Torx M8?
