    Hi all,

Wondered if anyone could help me, so I have had the break pressure fault and my abs light permanently on. There car doesn't feel like the abs is off I no that sounds crazy but it just doesn't.

From what I have seen on videos and on forums I should be expecting a crazy reading from the sensor it's self.

I had someone come out to the car with vagcom they read the sensor data and then sensor was reading accurate normal specs was showing on the live data feed.

He tried to reset this fault it came straight back. He also attempted another reset and test but vagcom refused to let him saying it was not working/not available.

I'm just wondering if anyone has had anything similar before I go stripping the pump down.

The G201 brake pressure sensor for the ESP system is built into the pump so you will have to send the pump away for repair, buy a used pump of the VAG repair kit 1K0 698 517 B which retails at £432.92. This is straightforward to install but the system needs a specific bleeding procedure after installation which requires suitable diagnostic equipment, a battery charger, preferably a pressure brake bleeder and an assistant.

    Thank you for your reply,

I was under that impression for the repair.
I was just abit shocked that the sensor it's self is still reading the correct data it through me off abit I didn't want to fork out for the repair and it be something else causing the fault.

    If the code is

    01435 - Brake Pressure Sensor 1 (G201): Implausible Signal

then in our experience it has always been the sensor, we have fitted numerous kits over the years, initially it was such a problem VAGUK were doing them for free even out of warranty.
