So I’ve heard in September unleaded fuel is changing from 95 RON to E10 and this fuel type isn’t compatible with early FSI engines.

Can anyone elaborate on this for me?

I know FSI engines should be run on high octane (99 RON Super Unleaded V Power from Shell being the best).

Shell V Power will be retained as a protection grade and it is what your car needs anyway but don’t worry, making the standard grade E10 will “save the planet” and it will shut up Greasy Turdburg quiet for about three minutes

E10 refers to the % of bio fuel, 95 Ron to the octane rating. Most fuel is e5 at the moment, the higher ethanol content can damage seals etc in the fuel system. I googled this when it was announced last year and found a document listing VW engines that would be affected but can’t now find it again, it might have been from vow Finland if memory serves. I think it’s only really early 2004 Fsi that will have issues.

What I have tried, and failed, to find out with every "innovation" into Co2 reduction is the percentage drop in world wide man made Co2 production they would achieve, percentage is a clear figure to comprehend than Tonnes? As the UK as a whole (transport, industry, homes, cows farting etc) produces less than 1% of the Global total, how much less Co2 in % world wide, would us going to E10 petrol (itself less than 50% of the fossil fuel used on the road) result in?
